This trek begins at the entrance of Aconcagua Provincial Park, where you’ll feel the energy of travelers from around the world and witness the logistics that support major expeditions. Along the way, we’ll enjoy the rich diversity of flora and fauna, passing iconic points like Laguna Horcones and the first base camp, Confluencia, where you’ll spend two nights. Here, you’ll have the chance to meet mountaineers and adventurers preparing to ascend Aconcagua.
Our goal: Plaza Francia, located at 4150 masl, where the impressive south face of Aconcagua rises nearly 3000 meters above you, offering spectacular views of glaciers and pure, untouched nature.

OUR RECOMMENDATION
This expedition is ideal if you want your first experience with high-altitude trekking and a short adventure around Aconcagua without technical difficulty.
Previous high-altitude experience is not required, but excellent physical condition is essential.
Day 0. Arrival in Mendoza
A day to rest and organize your entrance permit to the park (permits must be processed personally by each participant).
Day 1. Toward Confluencia
The adventure begins! We meet early in the City of Mendoza and transfer to Aconcagua Provincial Park. We hike to Confluencia Camp, where we will spend the night.
Maximum altitude: 3450 masl | Distance: 7.5 km | Elevation gain: 400 m
Day 2. Our Milestone
After breakfast, we start hiking toward our objective. After 4–5 hours, we reach Plaza Francia to enjoy the incredible scenery. We then descend back to Confluencia Camp.
Maximum altitude: 4150 masl | Distance: 18 km | Elevation gain: 1000 m
Day 3. Return
Breakfast, camp breakdown, and descent back to the Horcones Valley (the park entrance), where our transfer will take us back to the City of Mendoza.

What does the full board include?

What if I don’t have all the required gear?
We can recommend trusted rental shops and assist you in choosing the best equipment for the expedition.
How do I get the park entrance permit?
We will assist you throughout the process to make it quick and simple.
However, you must personally go to the park office the morning before the expedition to pay for the permit and sign the entry forms.
How will we transport the loads?
The general expedition equipment does not require transport, as it is already available at the camp.
The transport of personal gear is not included in the service.
If you would like to have your personal belongings carried by a mule, you can request this service in advance — it has an additional cost.

How will we sleep?
Nights will be spent in triple tents (two people per tent) or in domes, depending on availability at the time of the expedition.
Do I need previous experience?
No prior experience is required, but you must have a regular physical training routine.
Can the itinerary change?
Yes. The itinerary is a plan and may vary depending on weather conditions and other unforeseen circumstances.
Our professional guides are authorized to make decisions that prioritize safety and the success of the expedition. Changes may occur at any time without prior notice.
What happens if I abandon the expedition or need to be rescued?
Costs related to abandoning the expedition and/or rescues are not included in our service.
If you voluntarily leave the group, you will need to cover the costs of a guide to accompany you out of the park, transportation from Aconcagua to Mendoza, and any extra accommodation required.
Can I request a customized itinerary on different dates?
Yes! We can organize a tailor-made expedition according to your preferred dates and acclimatization times.
