A full-day adventure in Aconcagua Park

Aconcagua needs no introduction — it’s the highest mountain in the Americas and one of the legendary “Seven Summits”. Hiking inside its park is more than just a trek: it’s a glimpse into the world of high-altitude mountaineering, all in one day.

Our Confluencia Aconcagua hike is your chance to step into that world. In a 13-hour day, you’ll travel 400 km by road and hike 14 km up to the first base camp used by real expeditions. There, at 3,450 meters above sea level, the atmosphere changes: colorful tents, doctors, guides, and climbers from around the world preparing for their summit push.

Along the trail, you’ll cross glacial rivers, high-altitude valleys, and panoramic viewpoints. On clear days, you’ll even catch sight of the hanging glaciers on Aconcagua’s southern face.

This is a challenging but doable hike, ideal for active travelers who want to experience something different. Perfect for visitors to Mendoza who want a real taste of the Andes — with no camping or mountaineering experience required.

Includes professional guide, private transportation from Mendoza, and a light lunch at Confluencia, plus full support to help you enjoy the day.

An unforgettable journey into the heart of the Andes’ most iconic park.

HIGHLIGHTS

Walk the same trails used by mountaineers on their way to the summit of Aconcagua.

Feel the unique atmosphere of Aconcagua Provincial Park, where languages, stories, and challenges meet at nearly 3,400 meters above sea level.

Distant glaciers, meltwater rivers, condors, and landscapes that take your breath away from the very first step.

And to top it all off, reach Confluencia Camp — an international meeting point pulsing with high-altitude adventure.

What fitness level do I need?

You’ll be hiking 14 km at over 3,000 masl, with a 450-meter elevation gain. No mountaineering experience is required, but very good physical condition is essential. We need to maintain a steady pace to meet the park’s timing. It’s a challenging but doable experience.

What altitude will we hike at?

We start at 3,000 masl and reach 3,440 masl at Confluencia Camp.

What food is included?

We provide a cereal bar and fruit for the trail. Once we reach Confluencia, you’ll enjoy a picnic-style lunch with a sandwich or a platter (cheese, salami, homemade bread, boiled egg, hummus, tomato, etc.), depending on availability.

Can I request vegetarian or special meals?

Absolutely! Just let us know when you book.

What should I wear?

We recommend long pants, warm layers, a windbreaker, sun hat, sunglasses, and hiking shoes or sneakers. Don’t forget sunscreen, bottled water, and a personal ID (required).

You can download our full gear checklist here.

How many people are in the group?

We work with small groups. Whenever possible, the hike is private. On shared departures, there are no more than 8 people.

Where do you offer pick-up?

We pick up from Mendoza city and nearby areas within a 15 km radius.

We don’t pick up from Valle de Uco due to distance.

If you’re farther away, ask us about additional costs.

If you’re staying in Luján de Cuyo, please message us first — some areas are included, others have an extra fee.

What’s the typical temperature like?

Even during the season (November to March), temperatures can drop close to 0 °C. Bring warm layers and a waterproof windbreaker.

Why isn’t the park entry fee included?

The price and payment method change often, and the fee must be paid directly by each visitor.

We can help you get the permit, but not pay it in advance.

You can pay via Mercado Pago (online) or Pago Fácil (in person).

If you’d like us to handle it for you, ask us about the processing fee.

Can we start later?

No. Park entry closes at 11:00 a.m., and the drive from Mendoza takes over 3 hours. That’s why departure is between 7:00 and 7:30 a.m., with no exceptions.

Can I walk at my own pace?

Not exactly. The park has a strict closing time, so we need to keep a steady pace. You don’t have to rush, but there’s little room to stop for long breaks.

Do we stop at Puente del Inca?

Sometimes. If timing and weather allow, we make a brief stop. But it’s not guaranteed — our focus is reaching Confluencia and returning on time.

How much time do we spend at Confluencia?

About 45 minutes. It’s a long day with tight timing. You’ll have time to eat, rest, and take in the atmosphere — then we start the return hike.

Can the itinerary change?

Yes. The weather, trail conditions, or group dynamics may require the guide to adjust the plan. Your safety and experience always come first.

What if the weather is bad?

Mountain weather can bring cold, wind, or even snow. It’s part of the adventure. Come prepared physically and mentally, with the right clothing and mindset.

What is the transportation like?

We use the most spacious and comfortable vehicles available. On some departures, depending on availability, you may need to share the back seat with two other passengers.

This helps us keep the tour price fair without compromising quality, despite the high transportation and logistical costs.

If you prefer not to share and want extra comfort, ask us about the private option.

How do I book?

If you’re outside Argentina or paying with an international card, you can book securely through the button on this page:
