Climb Aconcagua: Your Dream, Our Mission
This is not just about reaching the top.
It’s about the dream that brought you here — the effort, the altitude, the inner fire that pushes you forward.
For 18 days, you’ll test your limits on the highest mountain in the Americas:
6,962 meters of challenge, silence, and raw, breathtaking beauty.
You’ll face the cold, the wind, the doubts — and find strength in your team, in your guide, and in yourself.
We run small-group expeditions with a maximum of 6 people — guided by professionals who have summited Aconcagua over 20 times and know exactly how to get you there safely.
With a 1:3 guide-to-client ratio, you’ll receive personal attention every step of the way.
Our itinerary is designed with one goal: to maximize your chances of a safe and successful summit.
It includes two nights of base acclimatization at 3,150 meters in the quiet mountain village of Las Cuevas — a gentle but essential start for your body.
Later, you’ll spend three nights at Nido de Cóndores (5,570 m), a key high-altitude camp that gives your body the crucial time it needs to adapt before summit day.
You bring the dream.
We take care of the rest: permits, logistics, transport, meals, safety systems, satellite communication, support — everything’s included so you can focus on one thing only: the climb.
No technical skills are required, but you’ll need excellent physical shape, altitude experience, and the right mindset.
This is a demanding expedition.
And that’s exactly what makes it unforgettable.
Your summit. Your story.
Let us help you write it — step by step.

DESTINO MONTAÑA
At Destino Montaña, we believe the greatest climbs are built on trust, passion, and human connection.
We’re a small team of professional mountain guides with over 10 years of experience in the Andes. We’ve spent years on this mountain — and we know what each climber needs to face it with confidence.
We’re not a big operator. We don’t run dozens of simultaneous groups. We focus on a few select expeditions each season — so that every person who climbs with us receives real, personalized support.
What our clients value most isn’t just the logistics — it’s our attention to detail, calm guidance, and the human bond that forms on the way to the top.
From your first questions to your final steps on the summit, we’ll be there.
Not just as guides — but as teammates who care.
OUR RECOMMENDATION
This trip is suitable for previous altitude-experienced and physically fit adventurers.
If you have climbed one or two of the 5,000-meter peaks — or have completed demanding multi-day treks at altitude — then you’ll be ready for the challenge of climbing Aconcagua.
On top of a consistent strength and cardio workout over the past year, this will also make you a likely success.
We’ll use the Normal Route — the most popular route to the top — that involves no technical climbing on rock or ice.
Yet harsh altitude, variable weather, and exposure to high-altitude camps for a number of days require grit, perseverance, and a willingness to work outside of your comfort zone.

Acclimatization that works — day by day, meter by meter
Reaching 6,962 meters takes more than willpower. It takes a smart plan.
Our itinerary follows proven high-altitude principles: slow ascent, active acclimatization, and strategic recovery. We build your strength gradually, so you reach the summit ready.
Here’s how we do it:
- Mendoza City (750 masl) – 2 night
Arrival, rest, and final prep before heading to the mountains. - Villa Las Cuevas (3,200 masl) – 2 night
A quiet start to help your body begin adjusting to altitude. - Plaza de Mulas Base Camp (4,300 masl) – 4 nights
Solid high-altitude exposure with time to rest, eat, and get stronger. - Nido de Cóndores High Camp (5,500 masl) – 3 nights
Extended stay at altitude before summit day — a key factor for success.
We don’t rush the mountain.
Each stage is designed to give your body the time it needs — so that when it matters most, you’re not just ready… you’re strong.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

- Typical meals include risotto with bacon, pasta with meat sauce, fresh sandwiches, rice with vegetables, barbecue, appetizers, fajitas, fresh fruit, cereal bars, and more.

What if I am missing gear?
We can recommend trusted rental stores in Mendoza and assist you in selecting the right equipment.
How is gear transported to base camp?
From Horcones to Plaza de Mulas, mules will carry general expedition gear and up to 15 kg of your personal equipment.
Above Plaza de Mulas, you are expected to carry your own gear unless you hire porter services (highly recommended).
What if I don’t want to carry my personal gear to the high camps?
You can hire a porter for your full expedition load (round trip) for USD 2,150.
We highly recommend using porters to maximize your summit chances.
If you prefer to challenge yourself, carry sufficient cash to hire a porter later if needed during the expedition.
How are the tents organized?
We use triple tents for two participants for greater comfort, specifically North Face VE25 expedition tents.
Do I need previous high-altitude experience?
Yes. Previous high-altitude experience is essential.
You should have successfully reached at least one 5,000-meter summit, and ideally a 6,000-meter peak, along with consistent cardiovascular and strength training over the past year.
What will I carry daily in my backpack?
You will carry only essentials: warm layers, water, and food.
Weight will be 6–8 kg during the approach; 15–20 kg at high camps without a porter.
If you hire a porter, your backpack will stay between 6–8 kg throughout the expedition.
How do I obtain the Aconcagua Park permit?
We assist you with the process.
Permit costs typically range between USD 800 and USD 1,000 depending on the season (sometimes promotional rates are around USD 600).
What happens if I abandon the expedition or require rescue?
Rescue and evacuation costs are not included.
Medical evacuations are covered by your personal insurance if authorized by Aconcagua doctors.
If you abandon voluntarily, you must cover additional guide, transportation, and accommodation costs (up to USD 1,000).
Can I attempt Aconcagua if I am very fit but have no altitude experience?
No. Physical fitness alone is not enough.
Previous high-altitude exposure is essential for safe and successful acclimatization.
Can the itinerary change?
Yes.
Our itinerary is flexible and may be adjusted by the guides based on weather conditions or group needs — always prioritizing safety and summit success.
Can I request a private expedition on different dates?
Yes.
We offer tailor-made programs based on your needs and available acclimatization time. Contact us for a custom quote.
