An unforgettable trek through Aconcagua Park, all the way to the iconic viewpoint of Plaza Francia.
Over the course of three days, you’ll live a genuine high-mountain experience, hiking through the most iconic park in the Andes. The goal: Plaza Francia, at 4,150 meters (13,615 ft) above sea level, facing the southern wall of Aconcagua — a massive vertical face rising 3,000 meters (9,840 ft), with hanging glaciers and raw natural beauty that leaves you speechless.
We spend two nights at Confluencia, the park’s first base camp, surrounded by mountaineers from all over the world. It’s a trek that’s accessible yet demanding, perfect for those who want to experience the real Aconcagua in a deep, personal, and intense way.
You’ll hike with a certified guide, in a small group, and with everything taken care of: meals, tents, permits, transport, and expert support.

Day 0 – Arrival in Mendoza
A free day to rest, explore the city, and complete the mandatory park permit registration for Aconcagua (each participant must do this in person).
Day 1. Mendoza – Confluencia Camp
We leave Mendoza City early in the morning and head towards the Andes. After about three hours of travel, we begin our hike through the trails of Aconcagua Provincial Park. The path leads us through alpine meadows, glacial streams, and towering peaks, until we reach Confluencia, the first base camp, where we spend the night.
- Distance: 7.5 km · Elevation gain: +450 m · Max altitude: 3,450 masl · Estimated duration: 2-3 h
Day 2. Our Milestone
After breakfast, we begin our hike towards Plaza Francia. The trail winds through rugged valleys and natural viewpoints until we reach the dramatic south face of Aconcagua: a 3,000-meter vertical wall of ice and rock that stirs the soul. We have lunch there, take in the views, and return to Confluencia to rest.
- Distance: 18 km · Elevation gain: +850 m · Max altitude: 4,150 masl · Estimated duration: 9-10 h
Reaching the viewpoint depends on weather and group conditions. Safety is always our top priority.
Day 3. Descent and return to Mendoza
After breakfast, we pack up camp and begin our descent to the park entrance. Our transport will be waiting to take us back to Mendoza City — tired but fulfilled, after living a true mountain experience in the heart of Aconcagua.
- Distance: 7.5 km · Elevation gain: -450 m · Max altitude: 3,450 masl · Estimated duration: 2 h
Do I need mountaineering experience?
No, but it’s important to be in good physical condition and used to hiking for several hours. This trek includes long days with significant elevation gain, so we recommend regular training at least 4 times a week (cardio, leg strength, and hikes with a loaded backpack).
Can I do this expedition on a private date?
Yes. We offer private departures for solo travelers, couples, or small groups. Same route, same logistics — just tailored to your schedule. Contact us for availability.
What will the weather be like?
The Andes weather can be extreme and unpredictable—even in summer. In a single day, temperatures can range from -10°C to 25°C (14°F to 77°F). The sun is intense at altitude, winds can exceed 70 km/h (43 mph), and light rain or snow is possible.
That’s why proper gear is essential: technical clothing, sun protection, waterproof layers, and thermal wear. We’ll send you a complete gear list upon booking.
What if I don’t have all the gear?
We can recommend trusted gear rental shops in Mendoza and help you choose the right equipment for this activity. You’ll also receive a detailed gear list well in advance.
How do I get the park entry permit?
The permit is managed digitally, but the Aconcagua Park requires printed forms with handwritten signatures.
We’ll send you everything in advance and guide you step-by-step. We also handle submission of documents.
Foreign visitors must pay the fee in cash at a Pago Fácil location once in Argentina.
What are the camps like?
We stay at Confluencia, a fully equipped base camp with domes, bathrooms, electricity, and satellite internet.
We’ll have breakfast and dinner indoors, and you can charge your phone and other devices. It’s more comfortable than wild camping, but we’re still in the mountains—nature and weather will keep you on your toes.
Where do we sleep?
We sleep two nights at Confluencia camp inside Aconcagua Park. Depending on availability, accommodation is in high-mountain tents (2 people per tent) or domes. Both options offer safe and comfortable rest at altitude.
Do I have to carry all the gear?
The group camping gear is managed by our team, and much of it is already at the Confluencia base camp.
Each participant carries their full personal gear during the hikes. Depending on the weight and quality of your equipment, your backpack may weigh up to 12 kg (26 lbs).
If you prefer to reduce your load, you can hire a mule or rent a sleeping bag at base camp. Contact us for availability and costs.
How many guides will join us?
You’ll have one certified guide for every 3 or 4 participants. This ratio allows us to provide a safe, personalized experience, with close attention to every group member.
What does full board include?
All meals are included: breakfast, trail lunch, afternoon snack, dinner, and snacks throughout the 3-day expedition. Example dishes: risotto with pancetta, pasta with sauce, vegetable rice, fajitas, picadas, fresh fruit, nuts, cereal bars, and homemade cookies.
Vegetarian or dietary needs? Just let us know when booking.
Can minors enter the park?
Yes, but anyone under 17 must present a notarized and legalized parental authorization. Please check park requirements with us in advance to ensure compliance.
What if I feel unwell on the day we hike to Plaza Francia?
Everyone reacts differently to altitude. If you feel unwell or need to turn back, a guide will return with you to Confluencia. You’ll never be left alone.
If you need to return to Mendoza before the expedition ends, additional transportation and logistical costs are your responsibility.
Can the itinerary change?
Yes. While everything is carefully planned, weather or group conditions may require changes. Our guides always prioritize safety, and plans may be adjusted without prior notice.
Where does the expedition end?
We finish in the city of Mendoza on the afternoon of the third day. If you’re staying downtown, we’ll drop you off at your accommodation. We recommend booking your night in advance.
How do I book?
A partial payment by bank transfer confirms your spot. The balance is due before departure. Contact us to receive full booking and cancellation conditions.
Do I need a medical check-up?
We recommend it. A physical stress test with a health professional is ideal to evaluate your cardiovascular readiness for this demanding activity.
What are the risks?
You’ll be hiking over rocky terrain, with steep elevation, unpredictable weather, and no comforts. Do not underestimate the mountain — the required gear is mandatory, and both physical and mental preparation are essential.
Why choose us for this experience?

We go with a maximum of 12 people and one guide every 4 participants. This allows us to stay close, adjust the pace when needed, and take care of you every step of the way.
