About the place
Valle del Sol is one of the most traditional villages in the mountain town of Potrerillos. Located less than 100 km from the capital of Mendoza, it has a huge dam that provides water to the Greater Mendoza and nearby towns. Its size and beautiful view make it an iconic point in the area.
2400 meters from there, in the town of Las Vegas, we get to the Las Lajas post, at the foot of the Plata range. And at that point we find our host Daniel’s ranch.
This unique place is part of the Plata range, a mountain range located in the Front Range, which covers the departments of Tupungato and Luján de Cuyo.
In these mountains, surrounded by sixthousanders and fourthousanders (summits that are around 4,000 and 6,000 m.a.s.l.), important water courses are born: the Las Mulas, Vallecitos, Río Blanco and El Salto streams.
