FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What kind of physical condition do I need?
This trek takes place at a moderate altitude with gentle slopes, so excellent physical condition is not required. No previous mountain experience is necessary either, as the activity involves no technical difficulty.
Can you accommodate vegetarian meals or dietary restrictions?
Of course! Just let us know when you book.
What should I wear?
Long pants, warm layers, windbreaker, cap, sunglasses, gloves, and sports or hiking shoes. You should also bring sunscreen, bottled water, and personal identification (required). You can download the full recommended gear list here.
How many people are on the trek?
We try to run all tours as private, but you may share your adventure with up to 6 additional guests. Each group will have its own guide to adjust the pace and intensity of the hike accordingly.
Where do you offer pick-up?
We’ll pick you up from downtown Mendoza or anywhere within a 15 km radius. Pick-up is not included for Valle de Uco or locations beyond that range.
At what altitude does the activity start?
The activity begins at 2400 masl, and depending on the chosen route, we may reach up to 3000 masl.
Will we cross streams?
Yes, during the hike we’ll cross two small streams without bridges, so it’s possible your shoes might get wet. If you prefer, you can bring a spare pair of shoes to change into after the hike.
What’s the usual temperature like?
It depends on the season. In winter, snow and temperatures as low as -10°C are possible, so proper footwear and a warm jacket are essential. In summer, temperatures can also drop near 0°C. That’s why bringing warm clothing is always important.
Where will we have lunch?
Lunch will take place at our mountain outpost, Rancho Don Daniel — a rustic and authentic site in the Andes. While services are simple, we guarantee delicious food and a great atmosphere.
What if the weather is bad?
Hiking in the Andes means embracing the mountain weather. You must be prepared for adverse conditions in both winter and summer — physically and mentally. Be sure to bring most of the items from the recommended gear list.
What is your cancellation policy?
Our policy is flexible: if you cancel up to 48 hours before the activity, you’ll receive a 100% refund. If you cancel between 48 and 24 hours before, we’ll refund 50%. After that, we won’t be able to issue any refunds.
